Tell is an experimental tool that compares a recording with examples you label. New video analysis requires cloud processing. Saved personal records stay in this browser’s encrypted local vault.
What stays here
Names, questions, reference labels, videos, embeddings, personal classifiers, check attempts and comparison history are encrypted and stored locally. Your vault passphrase is not sent to our servers. A cloud login does not back up or restore your vault.
What leaves the device
Only after you request analysis, video without audio is sent over HTTPS directly to the configured Hugging Face processing service. It returns numerical features from the frozen V-JEPA 2.1 encoder. Questions, labels, person names and personal classifiers are not needed and are not sent. New analysis cannot work offline.
The application processes media in memory without intentionally saving it to cloud object storage or a research dataset. This describes application behavior, not a guarantee of physical erasure from provider systems. Infrastructure providers may retain operational logs under their own policies.
Cloud accounts and operational records
Supabase manages account credentials and sessions. Minimal operational records include account ownership, consent version, opaque request identifiers, expiry and usage limits. They contain no saved recordings or personal embeddings. Authorization records expire; the deployment documentation specifies the configured cleanup schedule.
Choice and participation
Every participant must be an adult, understand the cloud processing and freely agree before recording. Stop if anyone withdraws. Participation does not authorize research use. This version has no contribution upload or shared-model training feature.
Lock, export and delete
Lock the vault on a shared device. Delete a recording or profile from its history, or clear this site’s storage in your browser to remove the vault. Deleting calibration changes the personal model and invalidates its previous check. Existing exports and copies on other devices are outside that deletion.
Make an encrypted export and keep its passphrase safe. Browser storage can be cleared or evicted, and Safari, Home Screen installations, preview sites and different domains can have separate vaults. Without a working export and passphrase, lost local data cannot be recovered by signing in.
Before a public launch
The initial public launch is planned for adults in the United States. This development release is for testing the software with freely consenting adults. Controller identity, privacy contact, processor contracts and provider retention must be finalized before recruiting participants or representing the service as GDPR compliant. No such compliance certification is made here.
